All classses- no homework this weekend.

A note about Algebra grades on report cards:

The "participation" grade on report cards is out of 60 points, not 100 so a 60 would be a perfect score. I am not sure why that printed on the report card, but since it did I thought I would let parents/students know. Sorry for the confusion.

Grade 7 Pre-Algebra

GRADE 7 PRE-ALGEBRA

  • The topic today was SQUARE ROOTS.  All cadets need a calculator and #2 pencils with erasers for the ISTEP on Monday. 
  • Only homework is for the cadets to practice 7TH GRADE concepts on STUDY ISLAND.  All know how to log on from their home computers.
  • There will not be any homework for Monday - Thursday of next week because of ISTEP.  Take a look at the blog again on Friday for homework.

Cadets are to graph a line through the given point with the given slope.

7th Grade Language Arts - Thursday February 26, 2009

Bravo, Charlie, Delta:

  • Finish reading assignment (pp 11-75) in The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle
  • If not finished in class, complete crossword puzzle and characterization w.s.
  • Study for tomorrow's vocabulary quiz

Alpha:

  • Write one paragraph about a food item using words with positive connotations.  Rewrite the paragraph changing the words with positive connotations to words with negative connotations.  Be sure that the denotations of the words are the same.
  • Study Anglo-saxon word parts for tomorrow's quiz

6th Grade Language Arts- 2/26

A/B- Think of another classic tale like "The Three Little Pigs" that could be told from two sides.  Select a character who might tell the story differently and write a new version with that character acting as narrator.

C/D- Imagine what the third pig felt like in "The True Story of the Three Little Pigs," and write a letter from the third pig to a friend in which he recounts the events and his reactions in this parody.  This should be written from first-person point of view.

All- Selection test over "The True Story of the Three Little Pigs" tomorrow. 

Cadets have a new reading log.  They should be logging their minutes read daily.

Book report due dates: 3/13 and 4/2
