Grade 7 Pre-Algebra

GRADE 7 PRE-ALGEBRA

Most cadets completed the M&M's activity with a circle graph today.  We will continue tomorrow with more percent problems and take a test over percents next week.  I am going to make the popcorn activity that I usually do during this unit an extra credit assignment.  So ... no need to send in a package of microwave popcorn - your cadet may be working the activity at home.

No homework for today!  Expect extra credit and missing assignments work over the weekend!

PRECAUTIONS AT ANDERSON PREP

SWINE FLU Memo: To all students, Parents, Faculty & Staff:

From: Robert Guillaume, Commandant

April 30, 2009

Everyone is aware of the national and state concerns that have developed over the Swine Flu influence in our country.  Across the nation several schools have closed.  Our state has asked that everyone take precautions such as:

·        Washing hands regularly ·        Do not shake hands·        Do not share drinks, food, etc.·        Be concerned about travel, large gatherings, etc.

Our school is taking what we believe are the appropriate steps to assure our students complete their required state testing, classroom assignments, and the remainder of the school year.  Thus, we are making the following changes to our school’s schedule of events.

·        The Science Fair will be moved from a Saturday, May 2, 2009 event to an in-school event during study hall on Tuesday, May 5 for 6th grade; Wednesday, May 6 for 7th grade; and Thursday, May 7 for 8th grade.

·        All out-of-town field trips have been canceled at this time.

This situation is something very much out of our control.  I have been advised by a medical doctor to take this seriously.  I appreciate your understanding.

R. Guillaume, Commandant

It is highly advisable for the student to be present to explain their project.  I understand some of you have family or sports obligations and cannot attend. Good luck to all.
