At the May 14 Parents Club meeting, someone asked if there was a way to limit email alerts to a particular grade. The way it works now is you sign up for blog email alerts by clicking the Newsletter section and typing your email address. Unfortunately, you get email alerts for all grades, which means a lot of extra email for most folks who only have one student at APA. My own limited knowledge of the blog software prevents me from offering a way to custom-tailor the email alerts.
However, the blog has a feature called RSS Feeds (also known as Live Bookmarks). Don't let the name scare you, because once you try it, you will love it!
Note: If you are using an older web browser like Internet Explorer 6, you may have to upgrade to IE7, IE8, or Firefox to use this feature.
Subscribe to our RSS Feed!
1. Click the Subscribe button.

2. Click Subscribe to this feed.
3. Check the box Add to Favorites Bar (optional), then click Subscribe.
4. Now, you will see a pulldown menu on your toolbar where you can click anytime to view the latest blog posts. It is a "live feed," which means you will always see the latest blog entries as soon as you click it.

Note: I am using Internet Explorer 8 in these examples, and the steps are nearly identical in IE7 and Firefox.
I think the RSS Feed makes a great substitute for the email alerts. If you wish to be removed from the email alerts, please send me an email tbaldridge@goapa.org.
Enjoy!
