7th Grade

Working on Areas of SS project in class all week.  Some students did not have their 3 fold poster board.  They need this by tomorrow (9/1). 

Today we studied the vocabulary. We will be having a vocab test on Wednesday. Please draw in your sketch diary today and tomorrow. Doesn't matter what you draw, just do it for the practice. Have a good night!

Students had to have their finished treble/bass clef flash cards for 25 points. The class then wrote a Venn Diagram over information for the Treble and Bass Clef. This diagram was worth 25 points. The students are to write a oone page paper on The Differences between the Treble and Bass Clefs. This paper is due Friday 9/4/09 and is worth 50 points.

Geometry (sections 1 and 2): 2.1 and 2.2 Notes; homework- page 75 #5-17, 32, 33 AND page 83 #7-10, 16-24. Students had 25 minutes to work on this in class, Due Wednesday

Today we had a reading log check.  Students also had time to read in class.  We discussed PAGES reading comprehension (Preview, ASK - 5W's plus 1, Gist, Explain/expand, Summarize).  Some students met with me one-on-one to discuss project ideas for their books.  All students will meet with me this week to determine their individual reading projects (DUE FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 11).

8A reviewed Friday's "quiz" in class today and discussed Chapters 1 & 2.  8B read Chapter 3 today in class and completed main ideas and details for each page.

NO HOMEWORK!!  Rest and eat breakfast to prepare for NWEA testing!

Today in class, we reviewed idioms 1-10 and discussed our "quiz" from Friday.  Students will share their stories they wrote using the first 10 idioms with their classmates tomorrow and Wednesday. 

7A will have an IDIOM test over idioms 1-50 on Friday.
7B will have an IDIOM test over idioms 1-40 on Friday.

7B - NO HOMEWORK TONIGHT!!  Get some rest and eat breakfast tomorrow a.m. so you're ready for NWEA testing!
7A - Create your own idiom for "cool" or "awesome".  This must be original!  :-)

9th Grade World History/Geography

Students at APA will be given the NWEA on line tests over the next two weeks.

NWEA testing is scheduled over the next two weeks.  Our SSC students may miss some of their classes with us due to testing.
