Chapter 5 Test today - no homework!

Homework:

7th and 8th grade do not have homework tonight.  Both grades took tests today.

We went over homework and talked about concepts on the Chapter 5 Test  - MONDAY!

All cadets should have their textbooks home to study for the test.

IN CLASS (1-29-10):

1. Oral warm-up activity.

2. Sing "Bruder Jakob."

3. Finish WB p. 54 and turn in.

4. Part 1 of Test Chapter 3.

HOMEWORK: Study for Test Chapter 3, Part 2

a. Study vocabulary and grammar (stem-changing verbs and nicht/kein)

b. Review the cultural information we've covered.

1. Copy new vocabulary words and phrases into notes, pronounce and discuss.

2. Sing "Bruder Jakob."

3. Partner work: Create a dialogue using the new words/phrases and practice reading it out loud.

4. Notes check: Show me your notes for a grade.

HOMEWORK: Bring notebook and 2 sharpened pencils to each class meeting.

Algebra- 8.1-8.3 Review and Practice on Study Island- no homework

Geometry (section 3)- Pythagoras Essays in class; If not finished, students must complete on their own time Due by Tuesday, Feb. 2 @ 3:00.

• 2 paragraphs on attraction description page
• anything not finished in class is homework

US Map: Have the Western & Midwestern states & capitals, and bodies of water memorized by Tues./Wed. Feb. 2 & 3.

Test today over prepositions, correct comma usage, coordinating conjunctions, prefixes and suffixes, irregular verbs, types of sentences, and comprehension.

The book report is due on February 16!

Lessons 5.1-5.3 and writing equations of horizontal and vertical lines.

Today took an abridged set of notes over the entire chapter 20, Protists. The assignment is p 498 /1, 2; p. 505/1,6; p, 509/ 1, 4; p 515/ 4; and p520/1. Due Monday/Tuesday. Test over chapters 19 & 20 is set for Wedneday/Thursday.

Today we finished chapter 15.3 on Ocean Productivity. We also did a short lab on the effect of temperature on water density. The assignment is p 437/1-7 and the lab questions p. 441/1-6.Due Monday.
