PARENTS SUPPORT GROUP MEETING MINUTES
NOVEMBER 12, 2009
Mr. Hayden provided information about the Title 1 program. The purpose of the program is to ensure that all children work to learn challenging state academic standards and have the opportunity to receive help to be successful. Funding comes from federal tax dollars and the amount of funding depends on the economic levels of the community and school.
Cadets are chosen for the program by a system that ranks their test scores and GPA and are taken in order of greatest need. The program is designed to provide math and language arts tutoring in a small group setting, on the computer customized to each student and small group assistance with school assignments that are based on the Indiana academic standards.
An athletics boosters club is being organized.
The Girls Basketball team is selling donuts to raise money to purchase warm up jackets. If you would like to donate donuts or other breakfast items for them to sell please let Coach Warner know or Annie Keller. Donation would be greatly appreciated.
