Description: The Anderson Preparatory Archery Program is available for grades 5 – 12. We are part of NASP (National Archery in School Program), which aims to improve educational performance among students by learning focus, self-control, discipline, patience, and important life lessons that are required to be successful in the classroom and in life. The season usually starts at the beginning of November and runs through the end of February or early March. The archers will practice twice a week after school on Mondays and Wednesdays. Within this program, the kids will get to compete with other schools around the area in several tournaments. The archers will also have the chance to qualify individually or as a team for larger competitions like The Indiana State Tournament in March, the National Tournament in June, and the World Open Tournament in July. We are one of the two schools in Madison County that is currently offering this program to their students.
You must have a physical on file in the athletic office and pay the sports fee to participate each year. If you have any questions, please contact Amy Wiles. We usually have a parent informational meeting in October before the start of each season. The 4-H program in Madison County is another great way to learn about archery and get prepared to participate on the school team. You can join the 4-H archery program as early as third grade.
