Continuous Learning Plan 2020

Section One:  Delivery of Learning

1.      Describe how you will deliver continuous learning opportunities for all students, including special student populations.

Academy – all students at APA in grades 9-12 are 1:1 and also have the opportunity for printed copies. Staff is available a minimum for 5 hours per day. . Elem and Pre-Academy (MS) have the opportunity for packets to be delivered and mailed home as well as virtual supports. SSC students in grades K-8 will receive computers upon request.SPED will continue to receive services from SSC, OT, and PT virtually and on paper modifications. SPED teachers and IA's will be "pushing-in" to Zoom meetings to provide services. ELL students will receive similar supports as well as 1:1 and small group ELL "pull-out "Zoom sessions to provide academic supports. SPED and ELL teachers and aides will make weekly check-in calls and virtual visits with each of the students on their caseload.



2.      Describe how your district communicates expectations for continuous learning implementation to 1. ) students, 2.) families, and 3.) staff.

Zoom meetings, Remind, text, phone, email blasts, Facebook, blog, recorded videos, loom, schoolology, youtube, Canvas, Google classroom, Dojo


3.      Describe student access to academic instruction, resources, and supports during continuous learning.

Students have access to a variety of learning platforms and resources. Academy students are working mainly in Google Classroom, Schoology, and Canvas. Teachers are utilizing Zoom for direct instruction, office hours, and tutoring. Pre-Academy and elementary students are utilizing IXL, Compass, Google Classroom, and Zoom as well as packets. SSC students are being provided services through their classroom teachers as well as SSC supports.


4.      What equipment and tools are available to staff and students to enable your continuous learning plan? Please list.

Laptop, digital curriculum, phone, digital platforms, Google classroom,, Khan academy, compass, IXL, Schoology, Canvas, Newsela, commonlit, RAZ kids, Apex, Compass


5.      Describe how educators and support staff are expected to connect with students and families on an ongoing basis.

Staff are available at minimum of 5 hours day. Weekly contact with HR students via phone and email. SSC staff have weekly check-ins. Remind, phone blasts, blog.


6.      Describe your method for providing timely and meaningful academic feedback to students.

Digital platform immediate feedback provided (Compass, etc.). Zoom meetings provide face-to-face feedback, tutoring, email feedback, Facebook live, message board, telephone calls and mailings

Section Two:  Achievement and Attendance 

7.      Does your continuous learning plan provide an avenue for students to earn high school credits? If so, describe the approach.

Yes. All high school students will continue to earn credits towards their graduation pathway. Dual credit courses are still on track, working with those specific universities to complete all assignments and hours to earn college credit. AP courses are following College Board recommendations and guidelines in preparing for AP exams in all AP courses offered. Some students at the high school level are also earning credits through Compass and Apex - our online software program for credit recovery.

8.      Describe your attendance policy for continuous learning.

Elem – weekly attendance check-in with Remind/Survey Monkey, work completion, participation

Pre-Academy – weekly attendance calls, work completion, participation

Academy – weekly attendance logs, work completion, participation


9.      Describe your long-term goals to address skill gaps for the remainder of the school year.

We are utilizing IXL to focus on mastery of critical skills and provide repeated exposure to these skills. We are also providing tutoring and utilizing our instruction aides and interventionists. If permitted to have summer, we will address during summer school. Currently we are spiraling our curriculum and prioritizing standards to focus on mastery. When students return in the fall, they will be assessed and appropriate interventions will be assigned to strengthen their skill set and address gaps. This is an area under development.

Section Three:  Staff Development

10. Describe your professional development plan for continuous learning.

We are utilizing Safe Schools, Zoom meetings and trainings, webinars and departmental meetings for collaboration and growth and will continue implementing our professional development plan.
