K-12 Social Worker (200 Contracted days)
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • Promotes general well-being of students.
  • Works with outside agencies to provide supports for families.
  • Offers mentoring suggestions to school personal.
  • Develops and provides crisis intervention strategies to create student success.
  • Works to maximize coping skills with students in difficult situations.
  • Works in correlation with the Neuroscience Coordinator and Guidance Department.
  • Coordinates with the Dean of Discipline to emphasize restorative practice.
Preferred Requirements for the position:
  • Ability to develop creative solutions to challenging situations.
  • Proactive and positive attitude.
  • Ability to set boundaries.
  • Ability to practice self-care and model for others.
  • Perception and active listening.
  • Empathetic and objective.
  • Background in social work.
  • Master's degree minimum (or willingness to obtain for licensure).
  • LSW or LCSW social work license.
  • IDOE licensure or willingness to obtain.
Salary for the position:
  • $40k/year

Elementary Educator (187 Contracted days)
The Anderson Preparatory Academy is a charter school in Anderson, Indiana that serves grades K-12.  APA strives to create a safe school environment where the values of respect and responsibility are instilled in our students.  At the upper grades 6-12, the school is a college preparatory academy with military elements including Civil Air Patrol for grades 6-8 (Pre-Academy) and Air Force JROTC for grades 9-12 (Academy).  The elementary emphasizes courtesy and cooperation and works to create a foundation of leadership, character, and service.  The elementary uses a continuous progress model with students moving at the pace determined by assessment of instructional levels.  Brain compatible learning and individualized instruction is the norm, and the school utilizes a rotational learning system using digital curriculum to deliver the instruction.  

Similarly, the Pre-Academy uses a rotational model focused on implementing digital curriculum to meet the individual needs of each student.  Teachers will enthusiastically embrace the model of instruction and work to implement the following:  small group teacher-directed lessons, hands-on and project-based learning, and individual skills work based on student learning plans.  Inclusion for exceptional learning, special education and gifted, is a major focus as well.

  • Teach in a multi-ability classroom with a mastery-based philosophy.
  • Assess student for mastery on a continual basis as required and develop instruction using this data.
  • Collaborate with his/her content area team as required.
  • Communicate with parents closely to create a partnership between home and school.
  • Assist with Title 1 instruction and extra-curricular activities as required/needed.
Requirements for this position:
  • Willingness to use digital curriculum for individualized instruction along with excellent direct teacher instruction using small groups.
  • Ability to produce academic achievement positive results and inspire student with a love of learning.
  • Elementary certification.
  • High expectations with an emphasis on college preparatory expectations.
  • Effective human relation and communication skills.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction and to create excellent rapport with students
  • Ability to use varied instructional methods including project-based learning along with digital-based curriculum
  • Clean criminal background check.
  • Willingness to work in a military cultural setting.

English Language 9-12 Maternity Leave (8/2/2021-Mid November)--Possibly 
We are currently seeking candidates for English LA Teaching Position for a maternity leave. The position is for grades 9-12. The position will begin approximately 8/2/21 and continue through October 2021, possibly mid-November.  The pay will be based on qualifications and experience.
