Lt. Nathan McBee is retired from the Marion Police Department after serving nearly 23 years. He has worked at APA for the last 3 years as a history teacher in the Pre-Academy, and he is the School Resource Officer. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps after graduating from Kokomo High School in 1992 with a MOS of Security Forces. After returning home from active duty, McBee attended Vincennes University and graduated with a degree in Police Science. As a full time police officer, McBee has served as an Accident Reconstructionist specializing in Heavy Motor Vehicle and Motorcycle crashes. Furthermore, he holds certifications to deploy all over the state and beyond in the event of a Critical Incident such as a Police Action Shooting. McBee was a member of the narcotics-combatting JEAN Team, and is one of three individuals who spearheaded and implemented the Youth Academy. He is also a founding member of the MPD Honor Guard, and served many years as its Commander. He has since served in many capacities - as a Field Training Officer, Shift Sergeant, Traffic Sergeant, and retired as a 3rd Shift Patrol Sergeant in May of 2018. He maintains his law enforcement credentials as a Reserve Officer with the Jonesboro Police Department. Lt. McBee’s hobbies include traveling, riding his motorcycle, spending time with his family, and watching Notre Dame Football.
