Lt. Hornocker grew up in Speedway, IN. While in high school, she played basketball, volleyball and ran track. She graduated from DePauw University, cum laude with a degree in Elementary Education in 1999. While at DePauw, she substitute taught in the local school systems and was an active member of the women’s basketball team as first a player and then a student assistant. After graduating, she taught 2nd grade and coached high school girls’ basketball in Avon, IN for 5 years before starting her family. She then served as an education consultant from home for 8 ½ years working with special education IEPs, homeschool families and directing tutoring programs as well as being a private tutor. Currently, she lives on the Westside of Indianapolis with her husband, Dennis and their 3 boys who all attend APA as well as their two fuzzy boys (Jet and Mo). Teaching is a true calling and passion for Lt. Hornocker.
