Thanks to your efforts, we have been able to help over 200 APA family members and Anderson community members. I am happy to announce that we will be continuing distributions for APA families and community members who are currently in need. We had to take some time to move and regroup, but we are ready to open our doors again. If you would like to donate to our continued efforts to support our families and communities, donations can be dropped off at the front office at our 29th St. campus or can be sent in with your cadet and we'll get them to where they need to go. If you are interested in making a financial donation, you can do so using this link: https://public.eventlink.com/fundraising?cd=250 or drop off your donation to the front office at either campus. After tomorrow's organization day and following each distribution, we will send out a list of our donation needs. Additionally, if you, your family, or someone you know is in need, please let them know the days and times we’ll be doing actual distributions. These will be on Wednesdays at 29th St. from 4pm – 6:30pm. We will use the Academy Cadet Entrance (S1) and will be working out of Room 103 for now. We’ll also post the information to our socials. Our first year of the elementary soccer showcase was a success. While we didn't keep score, we felt like all of our participants were winners. Thank you to everyone who participated and we look forward to an even bigger celebration next year.

Our Innovation Lab cadets put their engineering skills to the test! Using the Engineering Design Process, cadets designed and built structures with one major challenge in mind: Could their structure withstand a magnitude 7 earthquake? After planning, designing, and constructing their structures, it was time for the ultimate test: the earthquake simulation! Some structures survived the shaking, while others came tumbling down; both outcomes provided valuable learning opportunities! Cadets were able to see firsthand how design choices can affect a structure’s stability and strength, then reflect on what worked, what didn’t, and what they would change in a future design. #MakeYourDreamsTakeFlight

Congratulations on APA Athletics on being awarded the Sportsmanship Award from the IHSAA yesterday! Only 30 select schools received this award this past year, APA being amongst them. Do you remember the first time you went to Conner Prairie? The hot air balloon, the play areas, the treetop outpost?? Anyone??? OR maybe you have never been to Conner Prairie and would love to go?? Our cadets would LOVE to go to Conner Prairie and we're determined to make it happen.

Would you consider donating the milage to Conner Prairie? What about milage there AND back? $25 for 24.9 miles or $50 for 49.8 miles there and back.

We are in the business of making cadets' dreams take flight. We will do anything to help them see the vision, dream big dreams, and take those first steps in our walk-a-thon to making those dreams take flight.

What's special about the APA Elementary Walk-A-Thon?

A lot of things! Our favorite is the opportunity to get our cadets on a school bus! APA does not have school transportation, so for some cadets this is their very first time riding on a school bus. The smiles, giggles, and excitement on the bus going to and from a field trip are indescribable! It's the most fun thing (besides the field trip itself).

Since its beginning in 2013, Community Chefs has been a night of delicious food, lighthearted competition, and most importantly, fundraising for valuable programs out in our community. Men from organizations throughout Madison County come together to don a “celebrity chef” hat for the evening, and attendees are presented with an evening of delicious food and entertainment.

Why do we have a Walk-A-Thon?

It's no surprise that our cadets come from all walks of life (get it??). Not many families have spare change to pay for two field trips a year. Yes! All of our elementary cadets go on two field trips a year. We believe that learning happens in and outside of the classroom! Every place is our classroom. We're excited to provide opportunities for our cadets to get out of Anderson and see what's out there!
