Last night Coach Quarles was honored with the "Coach of a Generation." This is what his team had to say:
"At this time, we’d like to take a moment to recognize someone who has truly made a lasting impact on Anderson Preparatory Academy, our head coach, Coach Quarles.
Coach Quarles has dedicated 26 years to coaching, and we have been fortunate enough to have him at Anderson Prep for 10 of those years as our track coach. In addition to coaching, he serves as our 6th and 7th grade social studies teacher because apparently inspiring students on the track and in the classroom just wasn’t enough.
Over the years, Coach Quarles has done far more than teach lessons or lead practices. He has helped shape lives. He has sent countless students into the world carrying not only knowledge, but real life values, discipline, confidence, and lessons they’ll carry for years to come.
He has a unique gift: he can correct you, motivate you, and somehow still make you feel like you can conquer the world sometimes all in the same conversation. He has challenged students to be their best, encouraged them when they needed it most, and shown genuine care every step of the way.
Coach, thank you for the years, the wisdom, the patience, the pep talks, and yes even those moments when your “short talk” somehow turned into a full lesson.
Your dedication, your heart, and the example you set have made Anderson Preparatory Academy a better place. We appreciate you more than words can say."
