We’re honored to welcome Sergeant John A. Meeks II, U.S. Army (Ret.) as our Veterans Day guest speaker.

Drafted in 1969, Sgt. Meeks served as a Scout Dog Handler in Vietnam, working alongside his loyal partner, Artist, to keep soldiers safe in the field. After returning home, he dedicated more than 30 years to public service, including 20 years as a Kokomo firefighter and 10 years as Commander of the VFW Post, where he continued supporting veterans and the local community.

Join us as we honor Sgt. Meeks and all who have served this Veterans Day at Anderson Preparatory Academy.

This milestone marks a major accomplishment in the Civil Air Patrol Cadet Program, recognizing leadership growth, aerospace knowledge, and successful completion of the Cadet Physical Fitness Test. Earning this award also promotes the cadet to the rank of Cadet Staff Sergeant, joining an elite group of young leaders dedicated to excellence and service.
