As a reminder, 6-12 Summer School programming information:
Dates: June 2 – June 19 (Monday – Thursday, weekly schedule) Student Hours: 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM. Students will eat lunch at 11 – 11:30 AM. Drop Off Location: Academy Cadet Entrance, doors open at 8:20 AM. Pick Up Location : Pre Academy Cadet Entrance, exit at 12:30 PM. Enrollments, Dress Code Students selected were automatically enrolled in summer school, parents and guardians have been attempted to be reached via email and two phone calls. You as parent/guardian do not have to do anything to officially sign them up. Students must wear APA spirit wear (shirt or hoodie) with appropriate jeans or pants. Crocs and casual shoes are allowed, but shorts are not permitted. If a student doesn't follow the dress code after two days, they will be dismissed from the program. Attendance Pre-Academy Students: Daily attendance is expected. If a student misses more than two days (for any reason), they will no longer be eligible for the program. You will be notified if this occurs. Academy Students: Daily attendance is required until all four credits are recovered. More than two absences (for any reason) are not allowed. Once a student completes their four courses, they can leave the program. You will be notified before your child leaves. Discipline To ensure a positive learning environment, the following steps will be taken for behavioral issues: First Instance: The staff member will redirect the student and contact you directly. Second Instance: If the behavior continues, an administrator will redirect the student and contact you. Third Instance: If behavior persists, the student will be dismissed from the program and will not be able to make up any missed work or credits. Computer/Phone Policy Computers are to remain in classrooms at the conclusion of each daily session. Students are not permitted to work on coursework at home on other devices either, to maintain academic integrity. We encourage a "no phone" policy during instruction time. Students should keep their phones in their pockets or in a designated basket on the teacher's desk. Phones are only allowed during breaks or lunch, at the teacher's discretion. Questions? Anderson Prep Girls Varsity Track & Field Team Wraps Up Season at Sectionals:
The Anderson Prep Girls Varsity Track & Field team closed out a great season at Sectionals, held at Pendleton Heights High School.
A special congratulations to Kaylnn Orr, who is advancing to Regionals next week at Lawrence Central! Kaylnn will be competing in both discus and shot put—we’re cheering you on all the way!
We also want to bid a heartfelt farewell to our amazing seniors, Aunesti Reed and Jalah Watson, who have been part of the track program since the 6th grade. Your dedication and leadership have left a lasting impact.
Thank you as well to Leda’ja Chambers and foreign exchange student Lelia Gharbi for your valuable contributions to the team this season.

Device Collection Schedule:

Thursday, May 22 – 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM
Friday, May 23 – 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM
Important Notes:

Both the school-issued Chromebook and charger must be returned.
Any student who fails to return both items by the end of the school day on Friday, May 23 will be charged the full replacement cost of the unreturned equipment.

MEDICATION PICK-UP REMINDER!
All parents that have signed a medication into the clinic, please remember to pick them up prior to the end of the last day of school!
You are welcome to come to the school anytime between 8am-3:00pm. Please note on May 23rd, the last day of school, we ask that you are here no later than 2:30pm for medication pick-up.
We are grateful for all of your help in keeping your students safe while they are here with us at APA!
If you plan to bring a medication back for the 25-26 school year, please remember to have the pharmacy label attached (as this acts as the physician's order), check the expiration date, and have your physician provide an Action Plan if needed for asthma, allergy or seizure related medications.
